Who operates Yarnmates
Yarnmates is operated by Devin Clark under the Clarkium brand. This policy covers the Yarnmates website and its beta workspace. Use our Privacy Contact page for questions or requests.
Information you provide
Account registration collects your name, email address and password. The account system stores a password hash. Your workspace can contain project details, row counts, progress notes and photos, yarn information, and saved pattern instructions and images.
Community features collect the posts, images, comments, likes and reports you submit. Beta feedback can include a category, message, expected behavior and page URL. Privacy requests collect your name if supplied, email address, request type, message and submission time.
Technical information
Server access logs can include your IP address, browser information, requested page and request time. Yarnmates uses session cookies for sign-in and security, and temporary session storage for browser interactions.
The privacy contact form stores a keyed hash derived from the submitting IP address to limit repeated submissions. Do not include passwords, payment details or sensitive documents in a request.
How information is used
Information is used to create and maintain accounts, save workspace content, display community activity, answer support and privacy requests, investigate reports, protect the service and improve the beta.
Crochet questions submitted to the Assistant are used to provide a response. Avoid including sensitive personal information in a crochet question.
Visibility and access
Community posts, comments and shared images can be seen by other people who can access the community. Share only material you intend others to see.
Workspace records are associated with your account. Authorized administrators may access information as needed to maintain the service, handle support, investigate abuse or process a privacy request. Account access controls are not a guarantee of confidentiality for every uploaded file.
External services and links
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google font servers, which can receive technical information such as your IP address and browser request details.
Pages may link to YouTube, Facebook, Reddit and other external websites. Following those links takes you to services with their own privacy practices. Hosting, network delivery and security providers may process request information when providing the site. Their involvement depends on the address and deployment through which you access Yarnmates.
Retention
The beta does not promise a fixed automatic expiry for account records, workspace content, feedback or privacy requests. Records remain until removed or otherwise handled by the operator. Access logs and backup copies may persist separately from the live app.
We consider deletion requests individually, including information needed for security, outstanding disputes or legal obligations. Deletion from live storage does not necessarily immediately remove every backup copy.
Your choices and requests
You can edit or remove content where the app provides those controls. You may request access, correction, account closure or deletion through the Privacy Contact page, even if you cannot sign in.
We may need to verify account ownership before disclosing or changing information. A request confirmation means your request was received; it does not mean deletion or another requested action has already happened. Rights and exceptions depend on applicable law.
Cookies and browser signals
See Cookies & Storage for sign-in cookies, temporary browser storage and external font requests. Blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in or form submission.
This notice does not claim a implemented Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control preference system. Contact us with a privacy preference or request so it can be reviewed.
Children
Yarnmates is a general crochet service and is not intended for children under 13. Do not submit personal information about a child under 13. If you believe such information has been provided, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
Security and policy updates
Yarnmates uses password hashing, sign-in controls and form security checks. No online service can guarantee complete security. Use a unique password and an HTTPS address when the public site is available.
We update this page when information practices change and revise the date shown above. Material changes will be described on this page or in an appropriate service notice.
